Aim and experimental setup
Highly boosted supercharging is expected to be a means to increase power output of diesel engines
with higher thermal efficiency and reduced harmful matters emissions. High-pressure injection and
EGR will be combined with high-boost-pressure to achieve highly efficient and clean combustion.
To find out the best combination, we have started the following investigations using a
constant volume vessel with a total gas sampling system.
1. Study on heat release characterictics under high-density ambient conditions
2. Study on NOx control in entirely diffusion combustion
